Kandahar Racing year runs from May to April
Summer Training
Two weeks of high altitude training in Les Deux Alpes, France.
Focus: Technical skiing, gate training (timed runs), Fitness, and Introduction to racing.
Participants: Elite and developing racers and new trainees.
October Training
Two weeks of high altitude training in Saas Fee, Switzerland.
Focus: Technical skiing, Gate Training (timed runs), Fitness.
Participants: Developing and Elite racers.
Christmas Training and New Year Races
Three weeks in Champoluc, Montarosa area of Italy two weeks training and a week of the BARSC races.
Week 1
Focus: Technical skiing, Gate training (timed runs), Fitness, Introduction to racing, off piste/powder if conditions suitable.
Participants: New trainees, Developing and Elite racers
Week 2
Focus: Technical skiing, Gate training (timed runs), Fitness, Race preparation, off piste/powder if conditions suitable.
Participants: New Trainees, Developing and Elite racers
Week 3 – BARSC Races
Focus: Race preparation and Racing
Participants: Developing and Elite racers.
February Half Term Training
Racer Tasters: Les Gets, Meribel, Muerren, Verbier, Zermatt
Focus: Technical skiing, Gate training and Fitness
Participants: Children between the ages of 8 – 18 who would like to try ski racing.

English Alpine Championships
Focus: Race preparation and Racing
Participants: Developing and Elite racers.
Easter Training
Three weeks: 1 week in Saas Grund, Switzerland and 2 weeks in Meribel and Courchevel, France for British and Scottish Championships.
Week 1
Focus: Race preparation, Gate training (timed runs), Super-G Training, Fitness.
Participants: New Trainees, Developing and Elite racers
Week 2 – British Land British Senior and Junior Championships
Focus: Race preparation and Racing
Participants: Developing and Elite racers.
Racer Taster: Introduction to ski racing.
Week 3 – British Land British Children’s Championships and Scottish Championships.
Focus: Race preparation and Racing
Participants: Developing and Elite racers.
Racer Taster: Introduction to ski racing.
Technical ski training will include the following aspects of each trainees skiing technique: Strength/Direction, Stability/Balance, Velocity/Momentum and Impulse.
Trainees complete a Daily Progress Sheet and a Training Log Book, which identifies their goals, their areas of development, and their psychological process relating to racing, their fitness levels and their daily timed run results. The Log Book gives parents the opportunity to monitor a trainee’s progression and learning process.
