October camp

Kandahar Racing’s October training programme will take place in Saas Fee, Switzerland one of Europe’s hidden gems for autumn training locations where snow conditions remain fantastic throughout the year.  Our management team will provide trainees with the highest standards of professional ski race coaching, fitness training and pastoral care from 15 - 29 October 2023.

TRAINING

The training programme will include technique, skills, drills, SL/GS/SG gate training and race simulation with electronic timing. Trainees will participate in a full fitness and activities programme every day and evenings will include ski prep, video analysis and classroom lessons on other aspects of ski racing and athletic development.  The programme caters for young skiers brand new to competitive snowsports, through to experienced athletes with national team aspirations.

STAFF

James Bennett will be the camp manager and the coaching team TBC & others to be confirmed.

FORMAT

To ensure that a progressive and structured training programme can be put in place, inlier trainees must commit to attending the full duration of the long camp (2 weeks), or either the first full week or the second full week. Outliers are welcome to train on just a daily basis but are strongly encouraged to attend the full duration of either the long camp or the first or second weeks. You may receive an invitation to attend a third week if eligible.

ACCOMMODATION & COSTS

All inliers will be accommodated at the Hotel Les Amis which is ideally located a short walk from the bottom of the cable car. Inlier costs are inclusive of full board accommodation, lift pass, activities, airport transfer and training fees. They do not include flights or equipment hire.  Flights to Geneva if booked early enough cost under £300pp return inc holdall and ski bags.  Equipment can be hired locally in Saas Fee if required. Outlier costs cover training fees only.

TRAVEL

BA and Swiss Air flights to Geneva if booked early enough cost just £300pp return (excl bags). Travel plan for October camp 2023 will be available shortly. Please do not book any flights until you have submitted your online booking and had your place on the camp confirmed. We will be subject to the FCDO travel details published on GOV.UK

BOOKING

Places on our October training programme are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Bookings should be made online at the ‘Book Now’ tab.  Upon receipt of online applications – acceptance confirmation, travel details and invoices (inc payment instructions) will be distributed.
